Northern Exposure [Twin Lakes High]

NE: TLH (Northern Exposure: Twin Lakes High) is a realistic, high school RPG based on a real-life high school in WI. The RPG is for everyone of all RPG levels, and the minimum requirement for each post is ten sentences.
NE was started when the main admin (Megan) went up to camp in an area that has the largest chain of freshwater lakes in the world (which is actually the Lakeland Region, and it's funny because Megan also owns a RPG based on her hometown called "Lakeland High"). She just fell in love with the area and it's "small city charm" so to speak. Since LHS (Lakeland High) was going so well she decided to try her luck with another, northern WI RPG.
The actual idea came from when she was on this trip, she saw their high school and thought "wow, this would be a great setting for a RPG". She'd also been to a few football games up there and realized how much it was like her hometown to a certain point. She decided to boast up the whole "largest chain of freshwater lakes" thing to make it somewhat of a tourist town.

Now, don't think that this High School RPG is simple. It's quite complex!

Cliques

The Cliques in themselves are quite complex.

• Potranca
  
• Atlético
  
• Promedio
  
• Musica

Potranca

There's the Potranca's who're the school name-brand dreassing girls. They don't really hang out with anyone except for each other and the Atléticos. Sure, they may occasionally talk to someone from another clique, but don't expect them to like you. But that is about as deep as they get.

Atlético

The Atléticos are the sport obsessed guy. These are the so-called "jocks", the Lions of Pine that everyone knows about, and we mean everyone! Mostly, they're a bunch of jerks; however, sometimes they may tend to ahve a sweet side to them, and they're pretty much blondes! They only hang out with their own little clique and get a lot of attention from the Potrancas. Some of these guys don't play sports in the school, but they are popular.

Promedio

These are the "plain people". Other than the Potrancas and the Atlético, some of the very "friendly" personbags and jerk-offs fit in here as well. They aren't really known to be "cool" but they are popular in their own little group. They are pretty much all nice to everyone and they have fun with it.

Musica

These are the people who live for music. You really wouldn't consider them to be on the top of the social ladder, but they aren't excatly near the lower part of the ladder either. They are mostly considered like those "plain people", except they do their own thing.

Rebelde

These are the punk/skater people. Besides the fact that they skate and hang around each other, and crashing malls, these skater people are also pretty smart. They're definately not at the bottom of the social ladder. Their one and true hatred are the escenas...for lots of reasons. One being the fact that they copy the lifestyles of rebeldes and steal hang-out spots.

Escena

These are the goths, the scene people and things like that. Something they love more than anything is the color black. They are those who have the strangest tastes of interests and are proud when they scare people. They hate the rebeldes...for lots of reason, maybe different ones than theirs. This is the only clique in school that's a bit more mean than the popular-people clique.

Desgarrado

These are the smart kids. Pretty self-explanatory. They're mostly known as nerds. They like who they are, but it's not like all of the Desgarrado population are nerds. They are really cute guys and girls that are really smart and like to call themselves 'Desgarrado'. They "fit in" inside the "plain" people as well, but for now for now they are one of the lowest of all the cliques...if not the extreme bottom.

Biographies

When creating your biography, you'll fill out a form with such placeholders; Personal Information: Name, Ways to Contact You, Othe Charries you play, How You found NE, Extra; Character Information: Charries Name, Age, Grade, Clique, Celeb, Height, Hair Color, Eye Color, Other Family Members, Personality, Appearance, History and the all-time favorite or most-hated the password (which you have to find in the rules).

Under the categories "Personality", "History", and "Apperance" you have to type up at least ten sentences over the title. You're quite welcome to add more of course!

Celebs

Sometimes it's really hard to find good pictures of people to make for your signature. It's a good thing you're allowed to claim a celebrity here! That's right, you're allowed to use a celebrities picture for your sig and use them as your character. But hurry and claim your celeb before someone else does!



Ways of Communication

You may claim e-mails, aim accounts, a cell phone, and even a web diary! All you have to do is claim it, and post in character. People who have your "screen name" can reply when they're online. Or they can simply reply to an e-mail! How cool and fun is that! And on a cellphone, you can call someone from where ever you're at. Dee-dee-dee! xD



Plotting Board

I am sure we all know what a plotting board is! ^_^ You post all the plot info required, such as your charries enemies, friends, etc. How each people meet, why they like each other or dislike each other, etc. This is kind of self-explanatory!



The City of Twin Pines

The City of Twin Pines is another place you can roleplay at. Afterall, even during school season you always hang out with your friends in a normal, real-life town! Among the many places to go you can hang out at a nice park wehre you can walk around at. There's also a playground and a basketball court located in this park. There's the Middleton River, St. Mary's Hospital, The Pink Flamingo (a popular club), a Movie Theater, Twin Pines Pool (the community swimming pool), The Mall (there's a section for old movies that only cost $1.50!), Twin Pines Zoo, the Boardwalk (not only is it a great place to walk, it's also a nice plade to do some shopping!), and the Ice Rink.



Houses & Apartments

There's several places you can choose to live. Among them are; Houses, Apartments, Montbrook Homes, Glendale Homes, Bakersfeild Homes, Summit Lake Apartments, Foxworth Apartments, Red Ridge Apartments, or if you prefer a Dorm, you may apply for one!



Outside the City

Not only can you hang inside the city, you can hang out outside the city. You can visit the Cemetary, play at the Gold Course, Country Club, Jack Lake (part of the chain of twenty lakes, is medium sized and has a nice shore), Stables, The Woods, & Other Places!
